Extremely fine concept I think. But at this point I must say that I can't just put the gun and 'angel' together to form a mind with vicarious simulation. Angels are fair at the part of love, king, generosity etc. and the gun almost makes a feeling of a demon! (Just for saying) The look-through quality of his body is much surrealistic and enhances the feeling of being angel but the boundary of the torso-end and water is very 'badly' visible! Well, the wavy water is the symbol of the wince of his mental state, nicely blending with the imagination. He's vicarious of God. But what do we think God is? God's the symbol for all kinds of creation and optimism for a living body, no? Then the though of a sight destruction (of the gun) throws the art work off its focus. The melancholic view of this canvas tows the mind towards helplessness of a 'vicarious' mind. This is the most subtle part I think in the whole mixed-up package. It's mixed up because all the parts of this image is necessary for the traject of correct view about the transcendental vision. At last I say, it's an unbelievable creation!
The articulation between title & work is v effective, equally the articulation between de concepts & execution within it is also quite seemless. 1st theres a magic tension brought by the components of the angel concept and the evocation of (human, rebeld, man, pain/fear/trouble/life, crossing, water, just to say a few). For an angel all of dat is certainly vicarious, 2nd the space & matter of the concepts are quite intriguing 4 angels are ethereal beings fluid, ghostly, detached yet intensely & vaguely there, since both instances apply to the general idea and to the character in the work per se, the duality of being in that space and not having the same phisicality is underlined in a clever purposeful way. There r several depths to the space in the image & the matter of it. The variation of 3dmensionalities brings unity and creates matter, which supports de components of the concept. loving the wings and the appeareance of being in the middle of water, even the wave reinforces de body...but it does not ripple...how could an angel? deres a subversive element to gun, holyness and tattoos. a certain mundanity to tis particular angel. colors=space=concept too.
