Discussions on Palestine and the Palestinian cause have included attempts
to link it to the struggle of South Africans under the aparthei
Now it's my turn.
You just sent me an entire paragraph insulting me - and what an insult. I am absolutely outraged by your disgusting, condescending, insinuation of my intentions - shame on you.
Really attention seeking using the plight Palestinians? o_O Are you mad? Oh and I have an ego too apparently.
How dare you even entertain such a thought IN YOUR OWN MIND about ANYONE who is involved in their fight for justice. That's sick, and the idea alone just made skin crawl. You don't even know why I got angry - you just ASSUMED the worst.
I can safely say I have never heard that one before. I am a short step away from accusing you of being in-genuine. Your own profile has NOTHING on it to do with what we in this group do. Not even one single fav of Palestinians or of plight in general.
As for my posters the FREE PALESTINE title DOES look like mine - and the lay out is practically identical.
That isn't mine, and I don't want anyone thinking I made that - or that the artist that made this poster be thought to have made mine. I have been HOUNDED by 'You're an art thief' profiles who have me on their watch lists and now I see why. I am being reported because people think that I am stealing using this example; I could lose my account because of all these reports - but I should get over myself.
I simply don't want people thinking either of us are stealing from each other.
And I don't want to get BANNED.
Yet, you are correct in a way about attention seeking - that's the whole formula of RAISING AWARENESS - you seek attention. So yes in that sense you hit the mark.
Also, I do take my posters very seriously; because I want my posters to represent MY PEOPLE faithfully. If that's ego - so be it. At least my ego is productive. o_O
I'll just have to work harder and even design my own FREE PALESTINE title and lay out now so that my work won't be mistaken for someone else's work and visa versa.
Now excuse me while I go jump rope as I replay the words "I hope you're not just looking for attention' in my head while a man not even from my region, or knows who I am, or knows why I was upset, looks upon me with contempt.
Again, shame on you.
I only feel that this design should be allowed for ALL people wishing to help the cause, not reserved for you or anyone else for that matter.
Me not being of your religion has nothing to do with this at all. I am atheist, I have been to Israel/Palestine and seen the conflict first-hand, I have family members who have been affected, displaced and killed by the war, I've seen the horrors more so than the far majority of the western world, and it affected me too. Simply because I don't have the artistic style to help creating the campaign, does not mean that I don't have the right to disparage your criticism of someone for using the same layout as you.
Secondly, I never mentioned anything about religion.
Thirdly, there was no criticism it was me stating the obvious - our layouts are similar. While I have no qualms with people making such things I do have a good number of people accusing me of stealing art - which is not true. So when I saw this and then you see this [link] you can see why I jumped. The other lay outs have different title designs but this one - so it'll be easy for someone to assume I stole this piece. That's why I said it was dangerously similar. I was just thinking about all those people who haunted my page for 5 days - telling me to take my posters down.
